Hi, this is Jennifer Werkmeister with product management for ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Analytics. Today I’m going to show you how you can convert Legacy Report Builder workbooks so that they are compatible with the new ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Analytics Report Builder, as well as how you can import legacy workbooks, scheduling information so that you can send the newly converted Report Builder workbooks on the same schedule as your legacy workbooks. Let’s get started. Here I am simply in Excel, and I have already logged in to my new ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Analytics Report Builder.
First, I’m going to go to the scheduling tab.
In this first tab, I will be able to see all of the workbooks that I have scheduled and the second history tab. I will be able to see all of the previous scheduled tasks and their status here in the legacy tab. I’m able to see all of the Legacy Report Builder workbooks that I have with scheduled tasks associated with them. I want to upgrade and reschedule this first workbook.
So what I’m going to do is I’m going to select it and I’m going to select download. This is going to open a new workbook. But this workbook is still only compatible with the Legacy Report Builder. To upgrade it I’m going to log in to the new report Builder.
And once I have logged in, the new Report Builder will automatically recognize this as a Legacy Report Builder workbook. And it’s going to ask me to upgrade now. Next, it’ll give me a warning because it’s very important that you have a backup copy of your legacy workbook before you start the upgrade process. Because I just downloaded a copy and I can clearly see that this is book four. This is not my original copy, so I’m okay to proceed. A new report builder is now upgrading all of the Legacy Report Builder requests.
This is just a demo workbook. And so there’s only one request. But you can see it was successfully upgraded. Here it will list the number of requests that you have successfully upgraded. And if there are any requests that were not successful, or if there’s something that you need to pay attention to. For more information, you can download your upgrade report here in the upgrade report. It will list the location of all of your data block requests and the status of their upgrade. If the status was not a perfect success, we will give you a message detailing what happened with that request. You can find more information on the different Legacy Report Builder request types and what happens during the upgrade process. In the Documentation and Experience League.
Now I’m going to close this report. And I’m going to show you how I’m going to schedule this new workbook. So first I’ll close this pane. And now I’m going to select Send Workbook from the main menu. It has detected that this workbook was used for a legacy scheduled task. And it’s asking me if I want to use this information and metadata to create a new scheduled task. That’s going to be very easy for me. So I’m going to select use. Now I’ll be honest, this was also a demo scheduled task. And so I was the only recipient. But it has automatically filled me in here. It has also automatically filled in my normal scheduling information. So now all I have to do is check if everything is right. And then I can select send on schedule. And that’s it. Thank you for watching.
