Imagine a scenario where you’re away from the office and you’re asked to send a project file to an outside consulting firm for review. You don’t want to send the whole file because it contains sensitive information. What do you do? If you were in the office, the request would be simple. But this is exactly the type of situation where the Acrobat web tools are invaluable. To access the web tools, just point your web browser to acrobat.adobe.com. After you sign in, the first thing you’ll see is all your recently used files, including those used back in your office in the desktop version of Acrobat. You can also add other storage options for quick access to your files, just like you can in the desktop version of Acrobat. Let’s go ahead and add OneDrive storage so you can access your OneDrive files in the web version of Acrobat. Another key thing that you can do inside of Acrobat web is to open native Microsoft Office files, such as this Word file right here. You can open it and it’s still a native file in its Word format, but you can also launch open in Word directly inside of the Acrobat web tools. Now back on the homepage, if I select all tools, you can see everything you can do using the Acrobat web tools. I’m going to go ahead and select the extract pages tool. And notice how I can even select a file from my OneDrive storage from this dialog. I’m going to open this recent file that I have access to from the extract dialog. And I only need the second page, so I’ll go ahead and select it and extract it. Once the page has been extracted, I can rename it simply by selecting the title. And then I need to share the page with the outside consulting company. At this point, I don’t even need to open my email to attach the file. I can simply share it directly from here. We’ll select share, enter the email address and an optional message, and then select invite. You can also allow comments on the file, which is what I want, or add a deadline for the comments. It’s that simple. If you go back to the homepage and select the documents page, you can see all the documents that you have shared. And when you select it, you can track the status of the file to see if anyone has opened it. You’ll also receive notifications when the recipient has added comments. The Acrobat Web tools allow you to handle business document requests from anywhere to help keep your business moving forward.
