The commenting tools in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Acrobat DC allow you to mark up any PDF that comes your way and allow you to do it quickly, collaboratively, and in detail, so you don’t have to wonder whether your co-workers understand the changes you’re requesting. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights. Imagine you’ve just received a document and you need to add some comments and return it. Start by simply opening up the comment tool from the right hand pane, or find it in the Tools Center.
If you take nothing else away from this video, take away an understanding of the power of the sticky note. This little tool allows you to call out whatever you see in the PDF and attach your comment in situ. In the right hand pane, you’ll see a new comment appear with your name. This is where you type your note. If you use this note to @ mention someone using their email address, this action will automatically invite them to participate in the review process and view your comments in real time.
Right click on the sticky note icon to change any properties including its color, icon, and the author name.
Going from left to right in the comment tools bar at the top of the window, you’ll see a set of tools that are really useful for making comments in the text of the file. For instance, you can highlight words, underline them, strike them out, strike them out and attach a sticky note, or insert material in context. So for example, to highlight something, select the highlighter tool, click and drag to select the text and that word will be highlighted. Over in the right hand pane, you can add a comment speaking to that highlight.
The other tools in this menu bar are great for adding free hand comments. You can draw with the pencil, for instance, and erase the part of your drawing you don’t like.
You can create custom stamps for repeated use across documents or you can draw various shapes onto the file. Every time you add a new comment object, that comment populates in the right hand pane so you never lose track of your edits.
When you’re done adding your comments, click here to share the reviewed file through Document Cloud. If you choose to allow the recipients to review the file, they can respond to your comments and add some of their own. -
