Events not appearing in associated profiles due to the assigned Merge Policy in AEP

When events sent to a dataset associated with specific profiles fail to show up within the corresponding profiles, verify dataset enablement, check merge policy configuration, use time-merge policy, retest event ingestion, and verify profiles via lookup.

Issue/Symptoms

In certain scenarios, when events are sent to a dataset associated with specific profiles, these events may appear in the dataset but fail to show up within the corresponding profiles. This issue can occur even if both the datasets and schemas are enabled for profiling.

Resolution resolution

  1. Ensure that all relevant datasets are correctly enabled for Profile before ingestion.
  2. Confirm that your merge policy includes all necessary datasets. In some cases, using a Dataset Precedence  merge policy might exclude certain event datasets from being considered during profile stitching.
  3. Switch to or verify usage of the Default Time-based Merge Policy which should include all experience events by default.
  4. Conduct another test by ingesting new batches of data and monitor whether they associate correctly with their respective profiles.
  5. Use appropriate tools or interfaces provided by ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Experience Platform to look up profiles using correct namespaces and ensure visibility of all related experience events.
