Explore the basics for navigation AEM Assets.

Transcript
AEM Assets is accessible from the main navigation via the Assets icon. The files view provides a folder, files-based browse experience, and exposes the native tree structure of AEM, with a look and feel similar to how files are presented on a computer’s file system. Folders contain assets and other folders and can be nested as deeply as needed. When in files, there are several views available, each providing a different lens. The card view for large visual previews, columns, which provide context of where you are in the folder structure, or the list view which is simply a compressed view exposing important, sortable metadata.
These can be further tailored to display different metadata or adjust the sizes.
Navigating back up the folder tree is always available by tapping the current folder name, which exposes a bread crumb of the parent folders. Additionally, the cipher provides a useful content view that allows quick navigation through our assets using a compressed visualization of the folder tree structure. Maintaining a thoughtful folder structure is important, as many configurations are applied at the folder level, and apply to folders and files beneath them. This ranges across a variety of aspects, including translation, permission, metadata schemes and much more. As you use AEM Assets, it’s important to work within the content architecture that has been defined, rather than creating folders and files without considering the impact to the overall asset management. -
