In this video, we’ll show you how to perform the initial admin setup and configure user access to your ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Experience Manager assets Content Hub instance. To follow along and access the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Admin Console and Cloud Manager, you must have administrator rights in your organization. Before we jump into the interface to explore the workflow, let’s look at the types of user permissions Content Hub supports. Content Hub administrators can access the Content Hub configurations interface as well as access and upload assets to the Content Hub portal. They can set up the Content Hub UI for your teams and configure search filters, upload rules, asset properties, and more. Check out our video on how to configure the Content Hub UI for more details. If your organization has ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express entitlements, Content Hub administrators will also have rights to create and edit assets in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express. Content Hub users can generally access and download assets available on the Content Hub portal. As an administrator, you can give your Content Hub users additional permissions based on the tasks they need to perform. Content Hub users with rights to add assets can upload or import new assets to Content Hub. Check out our video on uploading assets and approval processes in Content Hub for more information. If your organization has ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express entitlements, you can assign rights to remix assets to new variations to some of your users. This will allow them to edit images using ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express. Check out our video on how to create variants in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express for more information. Another group of users to keep in mind is AEM Assets users. These users can approve assets in AEM so that they’re available on the Content Hub portal. This step can be automated if your Content Hub administrator enables auto-approval for uploading assets in the Content Hub configurations interface. Now let’s see how you as an administrator can set up a Content Hub instance for your organization. First, you need to enable Content Hub for AEM Assets as a cloud service. To do this, log in to Cloud Manager and find the program for which you want to enable Content Hub. If you haven’t created the program yet, click Add Program in the top right corner. Specify the program details, giving it a name and enabling it for production. Then click Continue. Now you can navigate to the Solutions and Add-ons tab and add assets and Content Hub to your program. For our example, we’ve already created the program, so let’s click the More Options icon on the program card followed by Edit Program. Go to the Solutions and Add-ons tab. Here, you can find the Content Hub option under Assets. Make sure both Assets and Content Hub are enabled and click Update. This will allow you to access and use Content Hub within your program. Enabling Content Hub for your program also creates a new instance in the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Admin Console, where you can add Content Hub users and administrators. To find this instance, log in to the Admin Console and navigate to the Products tab. Here, you can see all products and services available in your organization. Click ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Experience Manager as a cloud service. The instance that we’ve just created for our program has the Content Hub suffix. If you provision Content Hub after August 14, 2024, your new instance will have delivery as the suffix instead. Another notable difference between the Content Hub instance and other AEM assets as a cloud service instance is that it doesn’t have author or publish in its name. Click the instance name to view its product profiles. Note the Content Hub part of the profile name. If you provision Content Hub after August 14, 2024, it will say Delivery here. Product profiles in the Admin Console will allow you to assign and manage permissions for specific products. In our case, users added to this product profile will gain general access to the Content Hub instance. Now that we have the Content Hub instance and product profile set up, let’s onboard our users. To add users or user groups, click the Content Hub product profile, followed by Add Users. Enter the username, user group, or email address you’re looking for and select it. You can add more users or user groups here. Once done, click Save. These users can now access and download assets on the Content Hub portal. Note that they will not yet have administrator rights or rights to upload assets on the portal or remix assets to new variations. Let’s make one of the users a Content Hub administrator so that they can access the Content Hub configuration’s interface. To do this, navigate back to the Products page and select the Production Author instance for AEM as a cloud service. As you can see, there are two product profiles here, Administrators and Users. To add a Content Hub administrator, select the Administrator’s product profile, followed by Add Users. We’ll look for the user or user group here and select it. Once ready, we can click Save. These users will have administrator rights in our AEM as a cloud service instance, including Content Hub. Now, we want some users to be able to upload assets to the Content Hub portal. We’ll go back to the Production Author instance and this time, select the user’s product profile. Following the same steps as before, we’ll click Add Users and then find and select the users or user groups we need. Click Save and these users will be able to add new assets on the Content Hub portal. If you have an ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express integration, this will also give these users rights to remix assets to new variations, allowing them to edit and save assets using ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express. To access Content Hub, log into experience.adobe.com. ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Experience Manager Assets Content Hub is either available in the Quick Access section, or you can click the Product Switcher button in the Sites header and find it in the drop-down menu here. On the Content Hub portal, the users who have rights to upload assets can see the Add Assets button in the All Assets tab. If you have ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express entitlements, they can also see the button to open an asset in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Express on the asset card. Content Hub administrators can access Content Hub configurations to set up the portal’s interface. To open configurations, click the user icon in the header, then navigate to Configurations under the Product Settings heading. You should now know how to configure a Content Hub instance to get everything ready for your teams to access, share, and effectively manage your brand-approved assets. Thanks for watching!
