Take a project live

In this video, you will learn how to:

  • Take your project live using the project status

Transcript
The final step in planning your project is taking the project live by changing the project status. But before you do that, take a quick look through your project to make sure everything is set correctly. Check your task names to make sure they’re descriptive and accurately reflect the work that needs to be done. Check the duration. Each task should be given a sufficient window of time to complete the work. Check the planned hours. This is your best estimate as the project manager as to how long it will take the project team member to complete this work. Check the predecessors as well as the start and completion dates to ensure work is happening in the right order and at the right time. And finally, check the assignments. Is all work assigned to the right people? If everything is in good shape, you’re ready to take this project live. Change the status to current either in the project header or the project details.
As project manager, you’ll start receiving notifications regarding your project based on the global notification settings and your personal settings. The project appears on reports tracking live, current, or in progress projects. The projects show up in the list when you use the My Projects or Active filters on the projects page. And most importantly, the work begins.
